The Years Nobody Could Explain

For most of my late twenties, I felt like my body was working against me. I'd wake up already exhausted. By noon I was bloated and uncomfortable — even on days I'd eaten "perfectly." My skin broke out constantly. My brain felt like it was wrapped in cotton wool. I was anxious in ways I couldn't explain.

I went to doctor after doctor. Every test came back normal. I was told it was stress, IBS, hormones, anxiety — sometimes all four in the same appointment. I was sent home with advice so vague it was useless: "eat more fibre," "try to relax," "cut out dairy."

I did all of it. I still felt terrible.

The Research Rabbit Hole That Changed Everything

Out of desperation, I started researching obsessively. Not supplements — I'd already wasted hundreds on those. I went deep into the science: the gut lining, the gut-brain connection, the nervous system's role in digestion, how cortisol physically triggers bloating and cramping. I started reading research papers, not blog posts.

Slowly, a picture emerged. My problem wasn't the foods I was eating. It was the environment inside my gut — damaged from years of antibiotics, chronic stress, and habits nobody had ever flagged as harmful. No supplement was going to fix a foundation problem.

So I stopped trying to fix symptoms. I started rebuilding the foundation. And everything changed.

The Turning Point — and Why I Got Certified

Within a few weeks of applying what I'd learned, my bloating dropped dramatically. My energy came back — not the fake kind from coffee, but real, steady energy from the moment I woke up. My skin cleared. The brain fog lifted. I started waking up feeling like myself again for the first time in years.

The experience made me realise how many women were going through exactly what I had — quietly suffering, spending money on supplements that didn't work, being dismissed by doctors, and feeling like something was fundamentally wrong with them.

I got certified as a Holistic Nutritionist so I could help them do in weeks what took me years to figure out. And I started Gut Feeling Guide so that the information would always be free and accessible — no expensive programmes required to get started.
